I've already plugged Mike Schutt's new book Redeeming Law at the Rethinking Worldview Blog and at Worldview Academy, but you know what? I'm so impressed with it that I want to mention the book everywhere. I'm biased, of course, because Mike's an amazing guy who loves old bookstores as much as I do, turned me onto Josef Pieper, and is going to represent me pro bono if Jeff Baldwin sues me after reading Rethinking Worldview. But the thing is, Mike's book is good -- really good. If you're a lawyer or aspire to be one, this is obviously a must-read. But I'm neither and I'm finding it utterly fascinating.
A law professor and director of the Institute for Christian Legal Studies, Mike has spent a lot of time thinking about his profession from a biblical perspective. What inspires me about this is that, as a writer, I've done the same thing with my profession -- but not nearly as thoroughly or insightfully as Mike! As a result, Redeeming Law works for me as a case study. It inspires me to look at my own work through a biblical lens.
